Is McCoy On the Hot Seat?

Gerald McCoy has been playing through injuries for the last two to three years. After yesterday's defeat to the Saints a lot of talk have been focused on our DL play.

Pressuring the QB has not been "Buc" standard this year. I know we are young and we haven't played together as a unit for long.

We want to hear your opinion of our DL play.

Saints Brees Beats Bucs

The New Orleans Saints marched into Raymond James Stadium and gave the Buccaneers loss number seven and possibly knocked us out of the playoffs.

From the first play of the game we were already catching penalties. What we didn't catch a lot of the key passes on multiple drives.

For some reason we have been bit by the "drop bug" this season because when we need critical receptions we can't get it.

Our injured defense had no answer for Drew Brees and Marques Colston in the first qtr. They teamed up for two early touchdowns that got us behind the 8 ball early.

Doug Martin( 11 rushes for 81 yards 1TD 7.4YPC) had another productive day today. Breaking nice runs of 24 and 21 yards. Outside of the penalties and drops our team gained nice chunks of yardage in all our drives today.

Our team is young. With all the mishaps like penalties and drop passes it's going to be difficult to win games.

Even with all that we're not getting blown out. We're always in every game. Winston is playing good for a rookie. He was 18/32 for 182 yards. He throw one TD to Humphries today.

Winston still has faith in the playoff hunt.

In some groups fans are losing their mind saying that we aren't a playoff caliber team. I'm seeing a team that, if better disciplined, can be a playoff team.

Our skills are there. I can't wait until our offensive line gels even better. The future is bright.

Leave a comment and tell me how you feel about the game.

Bucs Rise Up to BUC Up Falcons

The Buccaneers beat up on the Falcons 23-19 on a day when we honored our first quarterback that took us to the playoffs into the Ring of Honor at Raymond James Stadium.

Winston seemed to follow in the footsteps of Williams by doing it with arms and his legs. He was 18 of 27 for 227 yards 1 TD, and 1 int. Winston also rushed 5 times for 57 yds and a TD.

The Buccaneers defense held the Falcons to one touchdown and Julio Jones to 8 catches 93 yards and 0 TDs. Containing Jones was the big challenge our defensive backs were facing this week

We held Matt Ryan to 30/45 for 269 yds 1 TD 1 int. We kept constant pressure on Ryan sacking him 3 times today. We kept there rushing attack to under 100 yards for the day. Controlling the run has become our strongest part of our young defense.

In the end Mike Evans (5 catches for 61 yds and 1TD) catches the game winning touchdown, in the back of the end zone, to give us the game winning score. Even though Mike Evans has had his ups and downs this year, he surely knows how to come through at times when no one else can.

We are now 6-6 and in second place in the division. Sure feels good! GO BUCS!!!! Check out the Highlights of the win.

Doug Williams to Our Ring of Honor

On Dec. 6 2015 we will honor the Grambling quarterback that took us from worst to first in our infant stages of existing as a NFL franchise.

We were 2-12, in 1977, when we drafted Doug Williams 17th overall in the 1978 draft. He was the only QB drafted in the first round that year.

Matt Cavanaugh, Guy Benjamin, Mark Miller, and Gifford Nielsen were all the other QBs that were drafted after Williams.

Coach John McKay saw raw talent in Williams and went ahead and decided to make him the leader of his team. Williams was in his second year in the NFL and he had already taken the Buccaneers to the NFC Championship game. Not bad for a QB that didn't face top notch national talent every year at college.

He threw for 16,998 yards and had 100 TDs with 93 ints with one Superbowl win.

It's been said by the locals that the Buccaneers had a hex put on them because of the mistreatment of Doug Williams and how we didn't help when he was going thru family crisis.

I'm not saying I believe in superstitions but looking back at our offensive track record and how we have lost QBs, that have succeeded with other teams, I would probably say that we've had some bad luck with maintaining talent.

I have a feeling that all will change Sunday when we show Doug Williams the love and appreciation we have for him as being the best and first QB to lead us out of the losing hole and induct him to the RING OF HONOR at Raymond James Stadium. If it's a sell out then for years to come hopefully our offense will play well.

Even Winston started off the same way Doug Williams did with us. GO BUCS!!!!
